Area Converter

The Area Converter is a tool that converts between different area measurement units. It supports three conversion tabs: pyeong↔㎡ (square meters), acre↔㎡, and pyeong↔acre. The pyeong (평) is a traditional Korean unit of area that equals approximately 3.3058 square meters (about 35.58 square feet). Despite Korea officially adopting the metric system, pyeong remains the most commonly used unit for real estate in Korea. Apartment sizes, office spaces, and land areas are still frequently expressed in pyeong. A 30-pyeong apartment (approximately 99㎡) is a standard family-sized unit in Korea. The square meter (㎡) is the SI standard unit of area used internationally. In Korea, official documents and newer real estate listings use ㎡, but most people still think in pyeong. The acre is primarily used for land measurement in the US, UK, and some former British colonies. One acre equals 4,046.86㎡ or about 1,224 pyeong. It's commonly used for farms, large properties, and land development.
