Complete Guide to Regional Job & Business Announcements
What Are Regional Job & Business Announcements?
This service provides a unified search tool for job postings and business announcements from the National Balance Information System (NABIS, nabis.go.kr) using their Open API. NABIS is a comprehensive information platform operated by the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), established under the Special Act on Balanced National Development.
NABIS collects and provides a wide range of information related to regional development, including policies, projects, statistics, employment, events, and research materials from government agencies and public institutions across South Korea.
This page allows you to search four types of announcements:
■ Central Agency Job Postings
Job openings from central government-affiliated agencies such as KIAT, Korea Employment Information Service, and the National Research Foundation of Korea. These include full-time positions, contract positions, and internships. As of March 2026, over 3,700 postings are available.
■ Regional Agency Job Postings
Employment opportunities from regional institutions including Technoparks, regional research institutes, and organizations under metropolitan and local governments across all 17 provinces and metropolitan cities. With over 22,600 postings, this is the largest collection of regional employment data.
■ Central Business Announcements
Project calls, R&D programs, and support initiatives announced by central government ministries and affiliated agencies. Categories include land and transport, industry and trade, science and technology, and agriculture, with over 2,200 announcements available.
■ Regional Business Announcements
Local support programs, subsidies, competitions, and community initiatives from all 17 metropolitan cities and provinces and their municipal subdivisions. With over 29,600 entries, this is the most extensive dataset, offering region-specific opportunities for businesses, organizations, and individuals.
How to Use
This service provides two ways to find relevant announcements: tab selection and keyword filtering.
■ Tab Selection
Select one of the four tabs at the top — Central Jobs, Regional Jobs, Central Projects, or Regional Projects — to automatically load the corresponding list of announcements. Switching tabs resets the previous results and loads fresh data for the selected category.
■ Keyword Filtering
Enter a search term in the keyword input field to filter the currently loaded list in real-time. The filter matches against announcement titles, organization names, and region names. For example, entering 'Seoul' shows only Seoul-area announcements, while 'research' filters for research-related postings.
■ Viewing Details
Click on any announcement title to open the full details on the NABIS official website. The detail page provides comprehensive information including eligibility requirements, application methods, required documents, and submission deadlines.
Results are loaded in batches of 20. Click the 'Load More' button at the bottom to fetch the next 20 announcements. The keyword filter applies to all loaded items, so load more data first if you want to search through a larger dataset.
Data Source and Refresh Cycle
All data in this service is provided through the NABIS (National Balance Information System) Open API.
■ Data Source
NABIS is operated by the KIAT Balanced Development Evaluation Center under the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development. It aggregates job postings and business announcements registered by central government ministries, local governments, public institutions, and affiliated organizations across South Korea.
■ API Structure
The NABIS Open API returns data in XML format through four dedicated endpoints:
• openApiJobList: Central agency job postings
• openApiLocalJobList: Regional agency job postings
• openApiBusinessList: Central business announcements
• openApiLocalBusinessList: Regional business announcements
■ Refresh Cycle
Data retrieved through this page is cached for 1 hour. The original NABIS data is updated in real-time whenever agencies register, modify, or remove announcements. Therefore, new postings appear on this page within a maximum of 1 hour after being registered on NABIS.
■ Data Fields
Each announcement includes a title, region name, organization name, source, posting/recruitment period, and a detail URL. Business announcements additionally include a category field (e.g., Land & Transport, Industry & Trade, Science & Technology).
Tips for Effective Searching
■ Check Both Job and Business Tabs
Many organizations post both job openings and project calls simultaneously. If you are interested in a particular agency, check both the job and business tabs to discover all available opportunities.
■ Make Full Use of Regional Tabs
Regional institution postings far outnumber central ones (6x for jobs, 13x for business). Filter by your area of residence in the regional tabs to efficiently find local employment and project opportunities.
■ Always Verify the Posting Period
NABIS archives past announcements alongside current ones. Check the period field on each posting to confirm whether applications are still being accepted. Even expired postings can be valuable as many organizations recruit on an annual cycle, helping you prepare for the next round.
■ Try Various Keywords
Experiment with different search terms: employment types like 'intern', 'youth', 'contract', or 'permanent'; project types like 'R&D', 'support', 'competition'; or specific fields like 'technology', 'culture', 'agriculture' to uncover more opportunities.
■ Visit the Detail Page for Application Instructions
Clicking an announcement title takes you to the NABIS detail page. Always check the detail page for specific eligibility requirements, required documents, application deadlines, and selection procedures before applying.
■ Visit Regularly
New job postings and business announcements are registered continuously. Public sector hiring peaks in the first half (March-May) and second half (September-November), while government support programs are most frequently announced at the start of the year (January-March). Checking during these periods maximizes your chances.
